Description

Milmish Mon in the Bengali translation by Ujjal Singha of Akademi Award-winning Hindi novel entitled Miljul Man of Mridula Garg. The story depicts the changes that Indian society went through during post-independence period. The story revolves around the lives of two sisters Gul and Mogra, who are born in 50’s decade. They observed how the country changed and the thought process of people around them also changed with time, especially their father. The narration of the story depicts the point of view of a powerful fictionist who is an insider as well. The play of passions inside the turmoil of complicated prevalent social atmosphere can give the reader a sense of alternative reading of history.
