At a seminar organized by Sahitya Akademi in Bangalore in 2015, playwrights, directors, actors, scholars of Indian theatre debated the ins and outs of Indian theatre from multiple perspectives. The contributions included here represent the balance between creative insights of artists and theatre workers on the one hand, and the critical perspectives of critics and scholars on the other. This is what makes this anthology a very important addition to the existing literature on Indian theatre.
