Mithya Satya is the Bengali translation by Kalipada Das of Yashpal’s Hindi novel Jhuta Sach. Yashpal builds the plot by using his own experiences, reports of newspapers and various other sources. When questioned about the motive of writing this novel, Yashpal once reportedly told that he wanted to explore the benefits of gaining independence after such a hard struggle. Though the target was not achieved in complete, we have something to boast of at least, he opined. The novel gained enormous popularity and it was translated into several Indian languages.
