Banglar Sahitya-Itihas is the Bengali translation of A history of Bengali Literature by the author Sukumar Sen. The book briefly sums up the literary activities in Bengali since the appearance of speech in this language. It provides the historical analysis of the growth and development of Bengali literature as well as the literary affinities of new Indo-Aryan speech communities and the development of the Bengali script. The book focuses on different ages of Bengali literature along with their attributes. It covers the major writers as well as their writings. The factors which shaped Bengali literature through ages were also analyzed briefly. It is regarded as a well-documented and highly informative authentic book on the origin and development of Bengali literature.
