Description

Dikku is the Kannada translation of the Sahitya Akademi’s award winning Konkani novel Dika, which speaks of the trials and tribulations of a lower middle class farming family. The author skillfully creates an ambience using the local idiomatic language and artistic expression which in turn evolves a natural environment for the delight of the reader.  It depicts vividly the socio-cultural life of a unique region bordering South Goa and North Kanara district of Karnataka.  The customs, traditions, beliefs, rituals, folklore and social taboos prevailing in the society are well projected in the novel.
