Bankim-175 is a collection of articles written by eminent scholars on the occasion of Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay’s 175^th birth anniversary. The book is edited by Satyajit Chaudhury and in planning he was advised by Tapan Raychaudhury. Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay (1838-1894) was an eminent novelist, poet and journalist. He wrote thirteen novels and many serious, satirical, humorous, scientific and critical treaties in Bengali.He was one of the shaper of Bengali languages in its primary stage. His patriotic writings contributed a lot towards Indian nationalism. The articles in this anthology were aimed at exploring the mind of Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay and his creation in the light of contemporary literary viewpoints. There is a total of twelve articles in this collection.
