Tamizh poet Suratha was a disciple of the great Tamil poet Bharathidasan. He was a lyricist and dialogue writer for many Tamizh films. His extraordinary use of similes and idioms set him apart from others and earned him the title “Uvamai Kavignar”, meaning “poet of similes”. This book is a selection of Suratha’s poems involving themes like nature, love and death, avoidance of crass ideologies, humanism and his love for Tamizh language.
