Four Classical Poets of Sindhi
Author : Shah Inat, Shah Abdul Latif, Sachal Sarmast, Sami
Translator : G. Allana
Four Classical Poets of Sindhi is a book small in size but seminal in value, and has selected poems of four classical poets of Sindh, who lived between 17th and 19th century, known as the golden period of Sindhi literature. These poets are Shah Inat, Shah Latif, and Sachal who were Sufis, and Sami who was a Vendanti and interpreted the Vedas in his poetry. Undercurrent of their poetry is love for humanity and respect for all religions. They belong to the same tradition as Kabir, Nanak and other highly significant medieval poets and ought to get their rightful place in the tradition of Indian literature and thought.
