R. S. Krishnasamy, better known by his pseudonym Vallikannan, stood for freedom in contemporary Tamil literature. He was for the language of expression that breaks away from conventional norms. He remained steadfast in his attempts to explore new vistas and thus created a paradigmatic shift in Tamil writing. The stories in this collection reflect the pathos and suffering, the hopes and frustrations and explore inner realities through unconventional means breaking free from stereotypes.
