Description

This novel of Tamil writer, Indira Parthasarthy, is about casteeism, terrorism and tragedy spread over in the interior southern part of the village of Tamilnadu. The story is based on a true incident which took place. In the year 1968 in a small village in the district of Tanjavur, where about 42 Hariyan workers were burnt alive by the Hindu landlords. Unlike the documentaries which simply relate the incident, the writer has given a clear picture of the entire area a sensitive manner. The writer of this novels, Indira  Parthasarthy, is a well – know novelist and playwright in Tamil language. Till date, her 12 novels, a few novelettes and these story books have been published here novels plays and stories have not only been translated in India languages, but in foreign languages as well. At present, she is the president at the “ Performing Arts” section of Pondicherry.
