Description

Chandrashekar Kambar is connected or rather related with the folklore literature of North Karnataka. He is a poet and playwright. Chandrashekar Kambar was born on 2.1.1937 at the Ghodgeri Village of Belgaum District. His mother’s name wad Chennamma and is father’s name was Basawanna. He studied at Gokak Muncipal School, got B.A. degree at Lingray College at Belgaum and thereafter M.A and Ph.D at the Karnataka University. He was professor of  Kannada Language at the university at Bangaluru. Later, he was also the Chancellor of the Humpy University. He was awarded Gyanpeeth Award for his play ‘Siri  Sampige’
